It seems the site has finally started getting targeted by spam – the amount of posts I had to delete in the last 3 days is staggering. Which means it’s probably time for me to set up some sort of measure, and this is where I’m hoping for some feedback from you good people who are commenting.

I’d appreciate some votes on a couple options:
Either I can set up the whole “type out the randomized letters before posting” thing (something I personally find very annoying).
Or I can set it to Membership required, and then allow people to set up accounts on the site finally. I’m not too sure if this is something people would like, but it seems like a cool way to establish some personality and ownership.

Any thoughts? Or maybe you hate both ideas?

Thanks for the feedback, y’all. We’ve got Captcha installed, Aksimet running, and I’m currently trying to figure out how to allow for sign-ups. So the correct answer was: “Everything and more.”
