Alex gave Charlie space, probably sensing that she might be uncomfortable with Mags there (especially if she knows what Mags is like) however yes, she did fail to give her the phone number, but then Charlie booked pdq before there was possibly a chance of exchange.
All in all, I think Alex is laying some ground rules so that Charlie knows what she feels is cool and what isn’t
Well that’s my half a groat
I don’t understand what you guys are saying. Alex had all the time in the world to give her number to Charlie, that morning after the concert, when she cooked her breakfast and all.
Or was she waiting for Charles to ask for it ? So basically Charles was pissed Alex didn’t give it, and Alex was pissed Charles didn’t ask for it ? Oh, relationships…
Yeah, to be fair, Charlie knew where Alex was, Alex knew diddley about how to trace Charlie. And she’d made an effort in the morning, unlike our heroine, who was busy being all introspective and monosyllabic. And if I walked into a bar and was met with the lack-of-eye-contact look Charlie had, on top of all that, I’d have taken the hint and shut up, too.
Bruised egos hurt just as much whether you’re genuinely interested or not.
@Dave Even more so when you add in sex and multiple relationships. As a character in a book I just finished said “See, luv, this is why a man should never have more than one lusty mate, for one is more than enough to kill us dead.”
And if looks could kill, a large number of Brightest readers would be dead from that withering gaze of Alex’s.
I’m going to say Alex is at fault for not pursuing Charles. She had the time and opportunity to do it. She is just mad at herself for not taking the chance, and angry/disappointed that Charles slept with Coop. I do hope this is swept under the rug, because this is getting complicated.
I’ve been DYING to get this scene out to you guys ever since getting to draw it, and I’m not disappointed by the feedback! It’s totally awesome getting to see all the reactions and even people picking sides.
and yeah why did charlie never try and contact alex? She was her first. I’m pretty sure that sexy hook-up at the beginning of the comic wasn’t wrought of loneliness :/
You’ve never seen a little studio apartment before? Coop actually lives above a garage in a little redone studio apartment. One room for everything (except for the bathroom).
Alex, if you want people to contact you, you give them your phone number !
@ Wood : You got her there Wood XD
alex kind of ignored her when they were at that bar
Aww. Indignantly hurt Alex shows that she cares.
@ Wood & Edwin.. Charles booked it the hell outta there before she had much of a chance to do anything.
And: Poor Alex…
Today’s Moral of the Story: Always get those digits. Always.
Awww. Don’t be mad, Alex. We still love you.

Gah. Relationships are stupid >_<

What is going on with the room they’re in? It’s like half kitchen/half bedroom? XD
